Glenda Brungardt, the tradeshow and event marketing program manager for Hewlett Packard Imaging and Printing Group, was awarded the inaugural Exhibit Manager of the Year Award at the 2012 Red Diamond Congress in Chicago.
Ray Pekowski, CEO and founder of The Expo Group and Exhibit Manager of the Year award-winner, Glenda Brungardt.
Brungardt has been involved in the event industry for more than 23 years. She was nominated by Kris Knight, SVP of sales and marketing at Splash! Events in San Francisco, Calif. Brungardt was nominated in part because of her pure focus when it comes to the details of a show and her ability to know exactly when to step back for a big view. Brungardt has also been praised for her ability to share her experiences and willingness to teach whoever asks for advice or direction. She was instrumental in implementing green practices at all levels of her exhibit properties at Hewlett Packard and she has been showcased in EXHIBITOR Magazine for her knowledge in automating show measurement. In addition to the Exhibit Manager of the Year crystal trophy, a check for $500 has been sent in her name to her designated charity, The Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department in Colorado. Demonstrating value, marketplace engagement and multi-channel initiatives are among the criteria that are subjectively judged by an independent panel of industry notables for the Exhibit Manager of the Year Award. Brungardt was one of five finalists for the award, including Emily Buffum of Iron Mountain, Sue Huff of Medtronic, Francesca Lendrum of Nokia Location and Commerce and Keith Wetherall of Volvo Car Corporation.
