A strong debut from IMEX America last year has resulted in significant interest from exhibitors and buyers for the tradeshow this coming Oct. 9-11 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.
According to show management, 20 percent of exhibitors at the first show are returning with even bigger booths. Of these, 50 percent of exhibitors have more than doubled the space they will be taking at the show.

The Anaheim Convention Center is in the midst of a $20 million, 100,000-square foot expansion of its outdoor and special event space.
Christened the Grand Plaza, the new, multi-use, open-air venue is located right outside the convention center’s front entrance on Convention Way. When completed, the plaza will provide a seamless pedestrian esplanade that flows from the convention center and between the Hilton Anaheim and the Anaheim Marriott hotels.

Urban Expositions has acquired the California Gift Show (CGS) from Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI). This acquisition further solidifies Urban Expositions’ plans to unify the Southern California marketplace and the surrounding areas. As a result, Urban has cancelled plans to introduce a new LA Gift Show in Anaheim in order to focus on expanding the California Gift Show.

City and Team San Jose Officials along with Hunt Construction’s top project management announced the next step in the San Jose Convention Center expansion project in San Jose, Calif. The project milestone began June 28 with the installation of a crawler crane, and it extended to July 2 with the first structural steel arriving on the construction site.

On June 27, 2012, McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, Nev., will open Terminal 3, a $2.4 billion addition to the existing two-terminal building. T3’s main purpose will be to serve international flights and help alleviate traffic for other areas in the airport, but as a result, will also help bring international meetings to the Las Vegas area.
