LAS VEGAS – On May 13th at 10am, the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and Las Vegas Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association (EACA) members held a meeting to discuss convention center updates and their ongoing partnership. Kevin Aivaz, Director of Convention Services, assured the EACA community that there would be more meetings in the future.
The meeting between the Convention Center and the EACA community included topics such as future policies, procedures, and general concerns. Some of the topics discussed at this meeting will be on following meeting agendas for further discussion.
Future meetings are planned to be held every three to four months. The LVCC will send invitation emails to EACA members for future meetings along with agendas of what will be discussed.
CONSTRUCTION
LVCC provided an overview of the construction plans for the convention center’s legacy campus The renovation will extend the technology, customer experience, and contemporary design and architecture of the West Hall, which debuted in 2021. This information was made available previously, however if EACA members were interested in the information they are able to reach out to Aivaz for more details.
LVCC plans to complete North Hall renovations by September 2024 and Central Hall renovations by September 2025, including the new interior walkway connecting North and South Hall, allowing LVCC guests to travel the entire length of the campus without having to go outside. North Hall, Central Hall and the new Grand Lobby will be completed by December of 2025.
ELECTRIC SCOOTERS
Starting in June, the LVCC plans to prohibit the use of motorized scooters and skateboards on the LVCC campus. Scooters required for ADA are not included in this ban, but only specific types of scooters will be allowed. All stipulations and exceptions will be communicated when the policy becomes active.
