The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod, formerly known as the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, has introduced a full transformation of the iconic property since Golden Entertainment, Inc., took ownership in late 2017.
The STRAT hotel tower is the tallest building in the state of Nevada, as well as the tallest free-standing observation tower in the U.S. Located on the north end of the Strip at the gateway to the Arts District (2000 Las Vegas Blvd. S.), the hotel offers 2,427 guest rooms, including the newly remodeled “Elevate Series” rooms and suites, with an 80,000-sq.ft. casino.
Guests are astounded by the views from the SkyPod, located at the top of the tower, 1,149 feet high. There is the Top of the World, one of the most romantic restaurants in Las Vegas, serving award-winning cuisine in a 360-degree rotating dining room on the 106th floor. Up one floor, the 107 SkyLounge, located on the Observation Deck, offers drinks and food with high-powered DJs. The bungee leap, SkyJump Powered by Mountain Dew, is one of the thrill rides with Big Shot, Insanity, and X-Scream. Up another floor, 108 Eats and 108 Drinks add to the nightlife.
Exhibit City News caught up with the team at The Strat to get the inside scoop on the new era of this world-renowned resort.
Bob Clift, VP of sales: This has been an exciting time for the entire Strat team. With the top to bottom, complete renovation of the hotel, casino and attractions recently completed, we are proud to showcase a property that is both iconic and fresh. For those who have not visited the property in a couple of years, it is, for all intents, a brand-new product on the Las Vegas Strip. Our group and meeting business is soaring, and we are excited about the future. Our location on the Northern end of the Las Vegas Strip provides the perfect balance of proximity to both the vibrant downtown area, the Las Vegas Convention Center and the excitement of the center Strip of Las Vegas Boulevard. Blake Sartini, CEO of Golden Entertainment: With this comprehensive renovation of The STRAT, we are introducing a new era for the iconic Las Vegas Strip hotel and casino. This includes elevated design, restaurants, bars, entertainment, rooms and a new Observation Deck, all accentuated by custom art installations created by talented local artists. There has been a full remodel of the entire 80,000-sq.ft. casino, and the exterior has been renovated to deliver a striking new arrival for guests. Additional room renovations are also completed, with 574 of the total 2,427 rooms now part of The STRAT’s new “Elevate Series,” showcasing contemporary design. In total, The STRAT has remodeled nearly 1,000 rooms with the recent introduction of the Elite room series and the remodeled Grand and mini-suites.
The STRAT’s main floor has recently introduced Blvd. & Main Taphouse, View Lounge and STRAT Café, the William Hill Sports Book, and Remix Lounge. The STRAT offers two resort-style pools, a variety of shops and entertainment include MJ Live, a Michael Jackson tribute show, and the L.A. Comedy Club, which showcases up-and-coming stand-up comics.
