According to a final audit report released by the Consumer Technology Association, owner and producer of CES, this year’s CES set a record with 63,784 international attendees. That number is more than a third of the entire show attendance. The audit also confirmed 4,473 exhibitors across a record number of 2.78 million net square feet of exhibit space. CES 2018, the “global stage for innovation,” ran Jan. 9-12 in Las Vegas.

The CES 2018 final audit reports 182,198 total attendance from 160 countries, including 6,645 media, with a record 166 key online influencers. This is the second consecutive year attendance has been more than 182,000 as the show expands to represent every major and emerging industry. Additionally, 1,079 speakers participated in CES keynotes, panels and conference sessions including more than 300 women speakers.

According to a
preliminary report released by the U.S. Department of Commerce, international travel to the U.S. decreased by 3.8 percent in 2017. CES 2018 showed no signs of following this trend as international attendance at the show increased by 5.9 percent from CES 2017. This included 36,482 attendees from Asia/Middle East, 17,338 attendees from Europe and 9,964 attendees from Africa, Oceania, South America and North America, excluding the U.S.
The CES audit was conducted by Vault Consulting, LLC, certified by the Exhibition and Event Industry Audit Commission to perform audits. The CES audit is set to provide verification of exhibition records, including direct on-site observation, examination of registration systems and testing of attendee records.

CES 2019 is scheduled Jan. 8-11, 2019 in Las Vegas. Registration opens on Sept. 10. Some of the most innovative tech trends from the CES 2018 show floor included 5G/connectivity, artificial intelligence, C Space, smart cities, sports tech, startups and vehicle tech.
