Condit has announced that Bill Donovan joined their team as senior account executive. He brings with him 30 years of experience in the industry, starting as an account executive with GES in 1995. Graduating from Southern Northern University Carbondale with an MS in Administration in 1990, within five years he was on the path that would become his life.
“I began my career as an Account Executive,” Donovan says. “That gave me a strong foundation in the industry and a front-row seat to how impactful tradeshow experiences can be when they’re done right.”
1995 also brought Donovan to Freeman, where he would stay for eight years. He was in the tradeshow industry to stay.
When asked about what attracted him to the industry, Donovan says, “From the start, I was drawn to the combination of creativity, strategy, and relationship-building. Over time, that evolved into a passion for helping clients bring their brand to life on the show floor while building long-term partnerships along the way.” The energy and unpredictability of helping clients execute their vision drives that passion. He says, “No two projects are ever the same. Each one brings its own challenges, twists, and opportunities to problem-solve.”
Working with clients is essential. “What I enjoy most is collaborating with clients and taking even the smallest idea and turning it into a fully realized experience on the show floor.”
Donovan became senior vice president at Metro Exhibit Corp in 2008, in time he would come to one of the greatest challenges in the industry: Covid. In 2021 he would become vice president of sales at DesignCentrix and his time there was one of his proudest. “One of the most meaningful accomplishments in my career was being part of the industry’s resurgence following Covid,” says Donovan. “The challenges forced all of us to rethink how we deliver value, and it pushed me to approach projects with more creativity, flexibility, and strategic focus.”
He credits that time with important personal and professional growth. “That period strengthened my ability to solve problems, adapt quickly, and support my clients through uncertainty. It ultimately led to stronger client trust and more impactful, well-executed experiences.”
Donovan looks forward to continuing to build client trust and impactful experiences at Condit, where he notes, “Condit has a strong reputation in this industry for consistently and successfully bringing a concept to reality. They deliver on time, execute at a high level, and stand behind their work.”
In nearly 30 years, Donovan has built a network of contacts and clients in an industry where trust and a reputation for delivery are everything. As Donovan says, “My goal is simple: the client can focus on having a successful show, knowing I’ve taken care of everything else.”
