Las Vegas has lived in two sports lanes lately: Fernando Mendoza owning draft headlines and the Golden Knights grinding through Round 2 of the NHL playoffs. But in the tradeshow world, the biggest sports news of the week came from a laptop speaker Friday, May 8, when EDPA’s Hockey Extravaganza went virtual for its East vs. West draft.
The EDPA Hockey Extravaganza locked in Team East and Team West for the fourth annual industry skate at City National Arena, the Vegas Golden Knights’ practice facility in Las Vegas, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Bill Hinchliff: “They’re pulled from a hat”
Bill Hinchliff, president of IPME and the driving force behind the event, ran the stream and kept the message simple: this night is built for community and the EDPA Foundation.
“There’s no favoritism,” Hinchliff said in a prior EDPA Hockey Extravaganza recap. “They’re pulled from a hat. So, we work together, like we do in the (tradeshow) industry, at the end of the day. We just want to have fun and mix it up.”
On the draft stream, Hinchliff leaned into the fundraiser’s purpose and the reason the event keeps growing.
“Remember, it all goes back to EDPA Foundation,” Hinchliff said during the draft. “That supports the people that are in our industry, that have suffered and had a moment where they need a little bit of help.”
EDPA leadership tuned in for the virtual draft
The virtual draft drew EDPA leadership, including Angie Johnson (president, EDPA Las Vegas), Derek Blake (president, EDPA Southern California) and Sebastien Thevenin (vice president, EDPA Las Vegas).
What we know and what we do not
This is the fourth annual event, but the earliest result is still unconfirmed. Recent history is clear: the East won 8-2 in 2024 and the West answered with a 5-2 win in 2025.
The winner and score of the inaugural game have not been confirmed, so we are not guessing. What is clear is the momentum, with bigger crowds, more sponsors and a deeper player pool each year.
Tickets, jerseys, raffle and sponsorships
General admission for adults is $75 and includes ice time, food and two alcoholic drinks. Children’s tickets are $35 and include ice time, food and soft beverages. Adult pricing increases after May 18, 2026 at 6 p.m.
Fans can also buy standard jerseys for $75 or custom jerseys for $105 with a player name and company logo. Raffle tickets are $10 each.
Sponsorship inventory is moving. Platinum and chuck-a-puck are sold out. Silver has one remaining spot, bronze has five remaining spots and the period shoot-off sponsor has one remaining.
