IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 has received Certified Sustainable Event approval from Greentime, which reviews sustainability practices in the events industry.
The event will take place Sept. 22-24, 2026, at ExCeL London. The certification applies to the show floor, which received a score of 76 percent following an independent third-party review.
Certification reviews event practices
The Greentime review covers environmental, social, and governance areas, including transportation, waste management, working conditions, diversity, and financial sustainability.
IAAPA said the certification reflects several steps tied to the event. Those include lower-emission travel options, reusable modular shell scheme stands, accessibility improvements, and opportunities for students and young professionals to attend.
Ylva Linder, global director of sustainability for IAAPA, says sustainability has become a growing business topic across the attractions industry.
“Having IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 approved as a Certified Sustainable Event by Greentime is an important milestone for IAAPA,” Linder says.
Linder says the certification reflects practical work across several areas, rather than one single change. She also says the process shows how event organizers can use structured reviews to track progress and identify ways to improve.
“Sustainability is not achieved by one person or one department,” Linder says. “It requires many people working together, continuously looking for ways to improve.”
