Alisha White, IOM, CAE, serves as the Global Sales Director for MGM Resorts International, overseeing business operations across the mid-Atlantic region, spanning from Pennsylvania to Virginia. Based in Virginia, she leverages her market-specific expertise to drive business growth in Washington, D.C., for MGM National Harbor, as well as the company’s Las Vegas properties. Alisha specializes in association business and holds the key leadership role for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Prior to joining MGM Resorts in 2023, Alisha established Sound Direction Nonprofit Strategies, a consulting firm that provided a range of outsourced services to nonprofit organizations, including turnaround operations, executive leadership, and marketing plans. Her client portfolio included esteemed organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), National Association of Catering Executives (NACE), and the Direct Selling Association (DSA). Alisha also assumed interim chief roles for FAR (formerly the Finance & Administration Roundtable) and the AMC Institute, the trade association representing the association management company (AMC) industry.
In the earlier stages of her career, Alisha played pivotal roles in advancing global sales teams and served as the primary liaison for the association market at Loews Hotels, Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), and Hilton’s Luxury Brands. A specialist in nonprofit meetings and events, Alisha earned her CMP certification in 2006, followed by both her CAE and IOM certifications in 2023. She maintains an active membership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is dedicated to making a positive impact through her involvement with nonprofit boards and volunteer committees, including So Others Might Eat (SOME), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Association for Meetings Professionals (AMPs), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), March of Dimes, and the Boy Scouts of America.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Alisha maintains a strong connection to her family’s Virginia farmland, where she resides with her husband, children, and dogs. Beyond her professional pursuits, Alisha is a passionate writer, a dedicated runner, an enthusiastic outdoor explorer, and she has a deep love for oceanfront beaches.
