The Future is Electric

by Bob McGlincy

A different type of event.  A different type of experience.  A very different type of car show.

Electrify Expo is the country’s largest Electric Vehicle event.  It’s a trade show … but it’s also a whole lot more! It’s a festival. It’s an outdoor celebration. It’s a business and networking entertainment displaying products and services. It’s a hands-on world with demos, rides and test drives.  It’s an educational program talking about sustainable transportation solutions.  Most of all, it’s a fun experience for everyone with music, kid zones, some highspeed bike tracks, and let’s not forget the demos, rides, and test drives.

What’s Different

Unlike a typical car show, it’s not just the opportunity to look at the newest cars and trucks. Sure, there are new and amazing vehicles, and you can look at them. But also, there are E-bikes, E-skateboards, E-motorcycles, E-scooters, E-mountain bikes, E-surfboards, E-PWCs (water vehicle tests will be available in select cities only).  What’s differentand this can’t be stressed enough because it is a huge difference — is the availabilty to demo, ride, or test drive all types of electric mobility machines.  If you have never experienced the thrills of an EV, this Expo offers the chance to take one for a spin … and feel the instant acceleration, the quickness, the quietness, and the joy. Test driving an EV for the first time will put a smile on your face.

This show is increasingly popular.  From three shows in its first year in 2021, it’s expanding to seven shows in seven months this year, with the first one featuring over a million square feet of space. Dates and locations are: May 19-21; Long Beach.  June 24-25; San Francisco.  July 22-23; Washington DC. Aug. 1213; New York. Sept. 9-10; Seattle. Oct. 14-16; Miami. Nov.1012; Austin.

Major Brands

Some of the major brands on display will include: BMW; Chrysler; Ford; Kia; Lexus; Mitsubishi; Toyota; Volvo; and VW.  All electric, and all available for test drives.

To quote BJ Birtwell, the show’s founder and executive producer: “Electrify Expo has significantly increased the number of brands participating and also added new entertainment elements for all ages. We are bringing together legacy automakers, startups in the e-mobility space with truly unique products, and everything in between to give people hands-on experiences with the products that are going to change the world as we transition to an electric future.”
