Rockwell Smith Joins Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau

ATLANTA – Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) announces the hiring of Rockwell Smith as manager, human resources. In this role, Smith will be responsible for overseeing the onboarding of new team members, developing and implementing training programs, fostering leadership development initiatives and driving additional key HR strategies.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rockwell to ACVB,” said Cynthia Mokotoff, senior vice president, human resources, ACVB. “His extensive experience in employee development and strategic HR initiatives will be invaluable as we continue to grow and support our organization.”

Smith brings more than two decades of comprehensive experience in the corporate human resources sector to ACVB. Most of his career was spent with Verizon Wireless, where he served as a human resources business partner. In this capacity, he focused on the daily operational aspects of HR while also specializing in crucial areas such as employee and leadership development, employee advocacy, organizational culture enhancement and performance management.

Rockwell’s commitment to professional excellence is underscored by his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from HR Certification Institute (HRCI). He holds a Master of Science degree in management with a focus on organizational behavior from Georgia State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
