2020’S First Green Expo Opens in Chengdu

The doors have opened on the largest expo of green technology in Western China, the Chengdu International Environmental Protection Expo, co-organized by the Sichuan Environmental Protection Industry Association and the Italian Exhibition Group Europe China Environmental Exhibitions, and with the support of the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry. This year, the 16th edition of CDEPE is the first green expo being held live in Western China and, along with the exhibiting companies and industry members taking part, represents not only the resumption of international business, but also the opportunity for building a green future for Western China, by means of new opportunities and trade exchanges.

With more than 15,000 industry members and professionals from the sector and 300 exhibiting companies, the 2020 edition of CDEPE will also avail itself of the abilities and professional skills of Ecomondo—the top IEG expo in Europe for the green economy (the next appointment is at Rimini Expo Centre in Italia from Nov. 3-6, https://en.ecomondo.com)—with speeches in streaming on international cooperation in the sector by Fabio Fava, professor of industrial and environmental biotechnologies at the faculty of civil, chemical, environmental and material engineering of the University of Bologna, chairman of the Ecomondo Scientific Committee and Italian representative in the Working Party on Biotechnology, Nanotechnology and Converging Technologies of the OECD (Paris) and Francesco Fatone, professor of chemical and environmental engineering and coordinator of the PhD course in research in civil, environmental and building engineering and architecture at Marche Polytechnic University, head of the water area of the Ecomondo Technical Scientific Committee. Numerous digital B2B (business to business) and B2G (business to government) match-making activities will also be organized for international enterprises.

For companies, industry members and professionals wanting to take part remotely, a promotional exhibition corner has been conceived and realized ad hoc at the expo, and the numerous companies that have registered from countries such as Italy, USA, Japan, etc. will alternate, via live streaming and other methods of video connection, presenting themselves to the public.

The event will also host schools and universities of all levels from the province of Sichuan with a specialization in sustainability, as well as enterprises and institutions from the environmental protection sector, to build a bridge between “innovation in entrepreneurship” and “transformation in scientific research.”

CDEPE is Sichuan’s first “zero-emission” expo and will be held in compliance with the principles established by the Sichuan United Environment Exchange.
