Czarnowski took first place at Get Out of the Gutter.

The Southeast Chapter of the Exhibit Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) again sponsored the 5th Annual “Get Out Of The Gutter… For A Good Cause” charity bowling competition and social event on August 11 Dunwoody, Ga.

This year’s event was attended by over 126 EDPA Members and was generously supported by 21 corporate sponsors raising much needed financial aid for the families supported by the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic.

Larry Skaar, president of the EDPA SE Chapter, summed up the philanthropic spirit of the evening.

“We are extremely fortunate to have a very close knit exhibit family in the Atlanta area. When one hurts, we all hurt,” he said. “An event like our bowling tournament brings out the best in everyone. I couldn’t be more proud of the support and spirit demonstrated by each and every participant. We proudly donate the proceeds of this event to the RSMGC.”

The objective of the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic (RSMGC) is to help families in the exhibition industry who have suffered severe tragedies or facing insurmountable medical expenses. The RSMGC is committed to providing financial and emotional support to all past and present recipients and their families.

Get Out of the Gutter featured 28 teams of 4 bowlers competing for the coveted championship trophy. The eight teams with the

highest team score qualified to bowl in the championship round which was eventually won for the second year in a row by one of the five Czarnowski teams who beat the 2nd place team from Nth Degree. The Team Spirit trophy was awarded to Blue Sky Exhibits who bowled with two teams of enthusiastic and supportive bowlers all wearing colorful Hawaiian shirts.

Even in this tight economy, the event showed continued growth in the number of participants and in the proceeds raised to help industry families.

Compared to last year, the EDPA SE Chapter was able to grow sponsorship for the event by more than 20 percent.

Corporate Sponsors and supporters of this year’s event included Champion Logistics Group, Nth Degree, The Inside Track, MC², Blue Sky Exhibits, Exhibitus, Momentum Management, Geo Creative, Expotechnik, PRG, Octanorm, Nuance International, PEI, Inc., AIT Worldwide Logistics, Shepard Exposition Services, Barrett United, Team One Display Services, Brumark Flooring, ColorChrome, Design 360 and Zenvoid Design.
