Sam Lippman, producer of the Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum (ECEF), recently announced that two scholarships to attend ECEF will be awarded by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).
ECEF takes place Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the J. W. Marriott in Washington, DC.
The scholarships are open to any graduate of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Future Leaders Institute who is also employed by an exhibition or convention producer.
Each scholarship covers ECEF registration, round-trip airfare within the Continental U.S. and a two-night hotel stay.
Qualified applicants must submit a 250-word essay explaining what knowledge and professional development they will gain by participating in ECEF.
Two scholarship winners will be selected March 1, 2011, by a panel of exhibition-industry executives.
Funding for the two scholarships will be provided by LVCVA, ECEF’s platinum sponsor.
“As a graduate of the inaugural Future Leaders Institute class and chair of IAEE, I am a strong advocate for the program and its value to rising stars in our industry,” said Chris Meyer, vice president of sales for LVCVA. “The LVCVA is proud to sponsor these scholarships and advance the future of the exhibition industry.”
The new scholarships are part of a celebration in 2011 of ECEF’s 10th anniversary, according to Lippman.
“I’m delighted LVCVA is funding two scholarships, because ECEF can help forge tomorrow’s exhibition-industry leaders today,” he said.
ECEF is the world’s only forum exclusively for business media and association executives. For one day each year, this invitation-only event gathers 200 leaders of the exhibition and convention industry to focus on fundamental ways to increase revenues and the relevance of their events.
The scholarship application, as well as more information about ECEF, is available at www.eceforum.com.
