Holman worked with
<!–[if !supportLists]–>1. <!–[endif]–>To increase awareness that Toronto Pearson offers free Wi-Fi service
<!–[if !supportLists]–>2. <!–[endif]–>To provide guests with more power outlets for them to conveniently recharge their laptops or electronic mobile devices.
How to make the intangible (Wi-Fi) tangible? Holman manufactured and fabricated a 14-foot tall illuminated sign of the international symbol for Wi-Fi. The three bars gradually lit up one at a time to mimic a working signal. To further encourage guests, the area around the sign was filled with seating and recharging stations for traveller’s computers. The signs were installed in strategic positions in high-traffic areas of the airport for maximum exposure. One was placed in the international departure gate lounges in each of the airports terminals.
The two logo signs were built at the Holman facility and then disassembled for transport. Working alongside the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Holman reassembled the logo signs over night at the two terminals.
Ten months later, the units are still lighting up in pattern and giving travellers a place to rest their feet and charge their electronic devices.
