The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nev., has extended its contract with Smart City Networks for technology services and high-speed Internet access for another two years. Smart City Networks will also now manage the digital telephone (PBX) system that serves the property’s guest rooms, convention areas and administrative offices.
Since 2002, Smart City Networks has provided the design, installation, and maintenance of Internet, network and data systems at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. With offices and staff on property, Smart City Networks oversees the provision and maintenance of both wired and wireless Internet services throughout more than 200,000 square feet of convention space as well as in all of the resort’s guest rooms and public spaces.
Smart City Networks has installed more than 7,000 feet of new fiber optic cable in the last two years to improve the quality of Internet service throughout the Grand Sierra Resort.
Smart City Networks continues to work directly with show management on an event’s technology needs. Able to accommodate up to 4,000 conventioneers, the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino welcomes numerous events annually.
Using the latest technology, Smart City will continue to provide the Reno resort with high-speed Internet access for meetings and conventions and in guest rooms using Ethernet protocols as well as offering turnkey data networking services, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and private networks.
