Maritz Travel and Experient announce leadership changes

Maritz Travel, a global provider of event and incentive travel programs and its subsidiary, Experient, a provider of meeting and event services, recently announced a new alignment for their corporate market sales and operations teams.

As planned with the acquisition of Experient by Maritz in April, the Experient brand will focus on association, tradeshow and government markets, with corporate efforts aligning with the Maritz brand.  To meet that plan, effective July 16, Experient’s corporate sales and operations teams will report and operate through Maritz Travel.

“This provides a clear and distinct focus for each of our brands, and creates a higher degree of targeted relevance to our clients and industry partners,” said David Peckinpaugh, CMP, president of Maritz Travel. “These changes will have absolutely no impact on our clients as they will continue to work with the exact teams as before this alignment, which was our promise at the time of the acquisition.”

Experient’s association, tradeshow and government clients will also continue to be served by their current teams.

“This alignment focuses our market talent and sharpens our brand clarity as we expand to meet the range of services demanded by current and new clients,” said Peckinpaugh.

With the successful integration of the Experient corporate market into the Maritz organization, changes in leadership were also announced.

Rick Binford, president of the event management services division of Experient, has decided to pursue other opportunities outside of the company.

“I want to personally thank Rick for his many years of service and leadership,” said Peckinpaugh. “He helped start and build the Experient sales network, was instrumental in taking our marketing efforts to a new level and helped event management through the very difficult years of 2009-2010. We sincerely thank Rick for his efforts and dedication over the years.”

The event management services division will now be led by Michael Guerriero, former CFO of Experient.  Guerriero brings more than 22 years of experience to this role.
