Soup’s on with employee chefs serving up their best to fight local hunger
This week, Mirror Show Management is hosting a unique fundraiser to combat hunger in the Rochester, NY, area.
Dubbed the Souper Bowl, ten MSM employees are each making their favorite soup and offering it to co-workers for $5 per cup. In total, there will be 15 soups available through the week.
One hundred percent of proceeds will go directly to Foodlink, a Rochester-based charity specializing in feeding the needy. In 2015 alone, Foodlink distributed 19 million pounds of food, offered more than 200 nutrition education courses and created new access points for healthy foods in underserved communities.
“What a fun and delicious way to bring everyone together for a great cause,” said Donna Shultz, MSM president. “This was entirely the idea of folks in our creative department. The giving nature of MSM people never fails to amaze me.”
The event is well-timed, falling in the middle of Rochester’s winter, where a serving of warm soup will be especially appealing. Employee-donated items, such as wine baskets, will also be raffled off, generating more dollars to help alleviate hunger in the Rochester area.
