Organizers Cancel CeMAT South America 2017

CeMATBlaming Brazil’s difficult economic situation and struggles within the industrial production industry specifically, officials at Deutsche Messe AG have announced that they are canceling CeMAT South America, which was scheduled for May 17-19, 2017 in Sao Paolo. “After intensive discussions with domestic and international clients, Deutsche Messe decided not to organize CeMAT South America this year,” said CeMAT Global Director Krister Sandvoss. “The current volume of membership does not match our high standard of quality and would not serve the interests of our customers or visitors. So this is the right step right now.”

CeMAT serves the intralogistics industry, which encompasses all issues surrounding material handling, including implementing, managing, monitoring, and optimizing logistics. The show has a half dozen iterations worldwide, and several are still offering show details and registration on CeMAT’s website, indicating that while Sao Paulo’s show is being canceled, others will continue to take place as planned. Organizers say they are discussing the future of CeMAT South America, but that they intend to continue serving major global markets independently according to their specific formats and unique needs.
