Las Vegas residents Bonnie and Todd Iverson recently donated $41,000 to the John F. Miller School for Special Education, which opens in a new building in January.
The funds were raised during the third-annual Ryan Kendall Iverson Foundation charitable
golf outing held at the Silverstone Golf Club in October. The Iversons donated the entire amount to the special education school, which in January opens a new building located at 3840 Pecos Rd. in Las Vegas.
Since 2010, the Iverson Foundation has raised and donated about $111,000 to the John F. Miller School, which receives 100 percent of proceeds from the annual charitable golf outing held in Las Vegas. The Iverson Foundation has virtually no overhead, and the Iversons serve as its only officers. The couple does not accept pay for the work they do on behalf of the registered 501(c)(3) charity.
The golf tournament is named after the Iverson’s son, Ryan, who had a rare neurological disorder as an infant and attended the John F. Miller School until his death in 2010. The International Association of Exhibitions and Events and Global Experience Specialists provide a great deal of assistance when planning and executing the charitable golf outing, which has become a very popular event within the exhibitions industry. The 2013 event is slated for Oct. 11 at the Silverstone Golf Club in Las Vegas.
