The former general manager of the Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House in St. Louis has been named the new senior vice president and general manager of America’s Center.
The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (CVC) has hired Marty Brooks to manage the 502,000 square-foot America’s Center convention complex, which also includes the 67,000-seat Edward Jones Dome, 1,400-seat Ferrara Theatre and the Executive Conference Center. Brooks will begin his duties on Dec. 10.
“Marty brings to our organization a wealth of knowledge and experience managing facilities and events. We are very excited to have him join the team,” said Kathleen “Kitty” Ratcliffe, president, St. Louis CVC.
Prior to joining the CVC, Brooks served as the executive vice president and general manager for the Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House. He also worked 10 years as senior vice president and general manager for Madison Square Garden-Connecticut, which ran the Hartford Civic Center, Rentschler Field and the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League owned by the NHL’s New York Rangers.
The St. Louis CVC is the official destination marketing organization for the city of St. Louis and St. Louis County. The CVC also manages and operates the America’s Center convention complex and Edward Jones Dome.
