Get a perfect first impression in just a few clicks: With its new Virtual Site Inspection, the congress initiative “Feel the spirit… do-it-at-leipzig.de” has developed a web application which innovatively presents Leipzig as a place to meet. It allows event organizers to interactively and individually explore the many congress, conference and event facilities Leipzig has to offer – anywhere in the world and at any time.
The starting point for this virtual visit is the service portal www.do-it-at-leipzig.de, which gives visitors a clear overview of Leipzig’s service providers and everything they offer the congress and conference sector. And with professional 360-degree photographs of individual venues, the new Virtual Site Inspection tool now conveys an even clearer idea of this variety. The practical range of services available at the conference and congress portal has thus been taken a step further, bringing it precisely in line with the demands of modern event planners.
An impressive 3D experience showcasing Leipzig’s variety
Virtual Site Inspection invites you to immerse yourself in the conference location Leipzig and to enjoy an extraordinary 3D experience – using a VR headset or Cardboard with a smartphone, on mobile devices or a desktop computer. With one click, the user is high above the rooftops of Leipzig and can let their eye wonder across the city. At three locations – in the center, the south and the north – panoramas offer imposing views of Leipzig. At the same time, they give you an overview of Leipzig’s many venues and hotels along with their exact locations in the city. And just one more click will take you to the respective provider. Navigation is intuitive and lets each user embark on their own individual journey of discovery.
From venue to venue in a matter of seconds
When you’re using virtual reality, there’s no need to worry about geographical distances, tight time schedules or the limited number of pages in a printed brochure. In less than a second, for example, the user might be standing inside the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig and move on to the Congress Center Leipzig or Porsche Leipzig, the Salles de Pologne in the city center, the Red Bull Arena Leipzig or Zoo Leipzig. You can even take a look around inside hotels such as the Fürstenhof Leipzig or The Westin Leipzig. Unlike static photographs, the high-resolution 360-degree images convey a realistic overall impression of the respective location. Users can look around in all directions, as if they were actually standing there.
Relevant information such as the number of rooms, capacities and a link to the contact person is accessible via the menu and will be kept accurate and up to date. This means new or modified facilities can be available online in a very short space of time. Like the service portal itself, Leipzig’s Virtual Site Inspection is available in both German and English. It thus constitutes a powerful tool to help national and international event organizers effectively research venues, creating the best conditions for inspecting them in person later on.
