Professional Convention Management Association and PCMA Education Foundation launched their Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund on August 30. The fund will provide assistance to members in the meetings and events industry who have been impacted by the storm. A number of convention centers across the state have also been quickly turned into temporary shelters for those displaced by Hurricane Harvey.
Deborah Sexton, president and CEO, PCMA said: “I invite everyone in the business events community to help our colleagues who are struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to help southeastern Texas emerge from this disaster.”
In it’s first day, the fund raised $4,925 of its $25,000 target, with 100 percent of donations going to those in need.
