Denver-based Image Audiovisuals, a provider of audio-visual event services, has become the first audio-visual company in the world to receive high-profile recognition of its support for environmental sustainability in meetings and events.
Image AV at the Colorado Convention Center recently received Level One certification with the ASTM Standard E2774 – 1, which is the Evaluation and Selection of Venues for Environmentally Sustainable Meetings, Events, Tradeshows, and Conferences.
To qualify for the certification, Image AV had to comply with standards established by ASTM International, an ANSI-accredited standards development organization. An independent auditor determined that Image AV complied in the areas of staff management policy, communications, waste management, energy, air quality, water, procurement and community partners, all as they relate to environmental sustainability.
“For years at Image AV, we have stressed the importance of conducting our business in a way that will have the least negative impact to the environment, because we know that environmental stewardship is important to so many of our clients,” said Diana Mueller, CEO, Image AV. “It is especially rewarding to receive this kind of recognition for behavior that, for us, is simply business as usual.”
Always on the lookout for ways to save on energy costs, for example, Image AV pledged to replace at least 10 percent of its show-related incandescent lighting with more energy-efficient LED lighting. Image AV also decided to purchase equipment for storage at the Colorado Convention Center, thus eliminating many inventory-transfer trips to the main Image AV office and saving on vehicle fuel.
