The Albany Capital Center received a 2018 National Disability Employment Awareness Month award from the Capital Region Employment Alliance on October 18. The award recognizes the ACC as one of only eight businesses in the Capital Region for making significant contributions toward the employment of New Yorkers with disabilities.
The ACC was nominated by Lifesong, Inc. based on its positive approach to focusing strengths and abilities of employees to realize their full potential, and extra efforts made to foster success for employees with disabilities. The ACC has partnered with Lifesong, an organization where adults with differing abilities are supported with day habilitation and employment services, to fill employment openings at their facility. Jerry Anthony, an individual from Lifesong who is now a staff member of the ACC, joined the ACC team at the award ceremony.

The ACC currently employees three individuals from Lifesong. Anthony was one of the first to join the ACC from the program and has been with them since their opening in March 2017.
