Charlotte Convention Center Begins ESCA WIS Badges March 1

Effective March 1, the Charlotte Convention Center has implemented the ESCA Worker Identification System (WIS) requiring all workers be identified with either a WIS Badge or a CCC issued credential. This new program allows enhanced overall security for licensees and guests by drastically reducing the number of credentials which makes the process of worker identification much simpler.

WIS-Map-2019Bill Tripet, Charlotte Convention Center general manager, explains, “The CCC has always placed high value on security and safety, so it is in this spirit that we will continue to enhance our own practices. One area identified for improvement was our badging and credentialing. The WIS Badge is an industry-wide proven system. Each badge is reasonably priced, costing $18 for ESCA member employees and $25 for all others every three years.”

Companies are encouraged to go online at https://wis.esca.org for a complete overview of the process involved in registering for the badges. Note each company approved to work at CCC will need to name a person as WIS administrator who will be responsible for registering their employees and ordering ID badges. If more info is needed on how to get started and/or how to register workers, contact Mitt Arnaudet, ESCA WIS director of sales at (972) 971-1140 or mitt@esca.org
