Valamar Riviera, Croatia’s leading tourism company, announced on Jan. 30 that they have started construction on Pical Convention Centre, which will be the largest hotel event center in Istria.
The center will be able to host up to 1,200 people, deal with every type of conference, seminar, meeting, exhibition and event. In addition to the large congress hall, guests will have seven meeting rooms and state-of-the-art event equipment, sound and technology made available to them.
The convention center is part of a large investment cycle that Valamar Riviera announced in 2019, when they moved forward with the luxury five-star Pinea Hotel (pictured above), as well as the completion of beaches and promenades with numerous facilities. Hotel Pinea, scheduled for completion by 2021 season, will offer 514 accommodation units and a total of 1100 guest accommodation units nearby.
Valamar believes that investing in the MICE sector will lengthen the tourist season and attract guests, who are genuinely interested in what the destination has to offer. Total value of the investment that Valamar will realize at Hotel Pinea stands at 790 million kuna.
With several other investments, the convention center represents Valamar’s investment strategy to reposition the hospitality portfolio towards premium products and services. Valamar also aims to strengthen Poreč’s position as one of the most attractive destinations on the Adriatic coast.
The gourmet offer will be expanded with various restaurants and bars, beaches, promenades, sports and recreational facilities for the citizens and guests of the increasingly popular Istrian city of Porec. Special care is being taken to arrange the horticulture, which includes the planting of trees, vegetation and ornamental plants. With the realization of these investments, the Pical Riviera area in Porec will become one of the most attractive tourist zones in all of Croatia.
