Global Exhibitions Day Celebrates Events Industry

Global Exhibitions Day, a worldwide celebration of the exhibitions and events industry, is organized by UFI and held annually on the first Wednesday of June, which falls on June 3 this year.

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, facilitates Global Exhibitions Day by inviting everyone working in exhibitions and tradeshows to take part in this campaign by organizing and sharing initiatives that promote the industry.

The day includes a broad mix of activities, both onsite and online, to promote exhibitions as business platforms as well as career and business development opportunities in the industry. Events and activities are arranged by many of the international and national organizers, by venues, by service providers, and also by national and regional associations.

Registered activities and projects in the Global Exhibitions Day project are eligible for the Exhibition World UFI awards competition. The theme of the GED2020 award is “Making the invisible giant visible.”

A panel made up of the UFI and Exhibition World will select the initiative that best showcases the exhibition industry to the world. See the winners from 2019 whose initiatives highlight the role the industry plays in developing trade, career opportunities and job creation, and driving business innovation and competitiveness.

Global Exhibitions Day is open to all who are interested in increasing the visibility of the exhibition industry regionally but also on a global scale. In the previous editions, this initiative mobilized thousands of industry professionals all over the world: associations, exhibition organizers, venues, service providers, universities and individual professionals.

UFI launched Global Exhibitions Day in 2016. It highlights the power of face-to-face exhibitions to boost business, jobs, innovation and local investment.

The campaign focuses on messages that promote the value of exhibiting for companies, the key support role of exhibitions for the development of trade and internationalization, and the stimulating role exhibitions play in driving innovation and competitiveness of companies.

UFI is the global association of the world’s leading tradeshow organizers and fairground owners, as well as the major national and international exhibition associations, and selected partners of the exhibition industry. For more info, visit https://www.ufi.org/
