The Duke Energy Convention Center, a Global Spectrum-managed public assembly venue, introduced a new addition to its sales team.
A customer-focused service and attitude made Carla Ballard an ideal fit for the sales team at the center, according to company officials.
“It’s a pleasure for us to welcome Carla to the sales and marketing team,” said Ric Booth, general manager, Duke Energy Convention Center. “Carla brings broad knowledge and experience of the industry and vital customer service skills, making her a great addition to the center’s sales team.”
Ballard comes to the center from the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati, where she was a sales manager for the last eight months, securing convention business for the 872-room property.
She has over 20 years of comprehensive hospitality experience, with a focus on generating hotel sales, revenue management and increasing profitability. Her previous experience includes nine years at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza hotel; as the national account executive, she worked to attract national association customers to the property. Ballard also has experience booking city-wide conventions as she served as the senior sales manager at the Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Prior to relocating to Cincinnati, Ballard served as the general manager of a full-service, franchised, hotel property, just outside Charleston, S.C. The northeast Ohio native is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
