The Poland Convention Bureau has become an independent office within the structures of the Polish Tourism Organisation. Aneta Książek has been appointed manager of the Poland Convention Bureau, under the direct supervision of Marcin Różycki, Vice-President of the Polish Tourism Organisation (PTO).
“In 2022, the Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourist Organisation celebrated its 20th anniversary. Over these two decades, we have witnessed a great transformation and professionalisation of the Polish meetings industry. Today, it is time for more changes. This means continuing to work with the industry and on well-known projects, but also looking for the best ways to influence Poland’s competitiveness in the VUCA era. I believe that the Poland Convention Bureau will be up to its new tasks and will further contribute to the development of Poland as a leader in Central Europe for meetings and events,” says Marcin Różycki, Vice-President of the PTO.
Aneta Książek is closely identified with the PTO and its efforts to promote Poland and develop the meetings industry. Between 2008 and 2018, she held the position of chief conference specialist at the PTO. She has said that she makes her professional decisions inspired by the words attributed to Confucius – “Choose a job you love, and you will not have to work a single day more in your life.”
In 2015, she gained 10 months’ experience working at the PTO’s Foreign Centre in Brussels, where she was in charge of promoting both leisure tourism and the meetings industry. Among other things, she was the originator of a project promoting Poland as a tourist attraction in Belgium, and in particular the Green Velo cycle routes running through eastern Poland. The promotional campaign consisted of Krystian Herba breaking the Guinness world record for the fastest time down the Atomium stairs by bicycle without stopping.
She earned her Destination Pro certification in 2012 (a professional development programme aimed at those working to promote destinations attractive to business visitors). In addition, she became a Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) in 2013, received her Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) in 2015, and completed the Event Management (Stage I) training in August 2016.
For her efforts, she has twice been awarded the MP Power Awards (2013, 2020). From 2019 to October 2021, she was head of the Poland Convention Bureau at the PTO. Since 7 June 2021, she was an honorary member of the SITE Poland Association.
