Brewing Convention Luxury: Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport

by Danelle Dodds, Exhibit City News

Towering as a beacon of luxury and sophistication in the vibrant neighborhood of Boston Harbor, the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is a contemporary masterpiece. Opened to fanfare in 2021, it quickly became a testament to the city, offering a unique blend of modern opulence, timeless elegance, and exceptional alternative convention space.

Strategically located across the street from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Omni Boston at the Seaport is a glittering marvel of design and convention opportunity. As the third-largest hotel in the city, it boasts 1,054 sleeping rooms, seven onsite restaurants, a luxury spa, a rooftop pool, and over 100,000 square feet of meeting space, serving immense value for corporate planners seeking the Boston experience.

The surrounding Seaport District is steeped in American history. Once the site of the infamous Boston Tea Party, the area played a vital role in the city’s shipping and fishing trade. Today, it is a thriving commercial hub, with gleaming high rises dramatically posed against the watery backdrop of the harbor. Yet, it hasn’t lost its historical charm. Hundreds of restaurants, shops, and artist lofts populate the streets, nestled amongst the convention center, museums, and theaters. This blend of old and new has earned the area the title of the Innovation District, a name that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Omni Boston at the Seaport.

“When the hotel was developed, we wanted to celebrate the local flavor,” shares Brendon Duca, director of sales and marketing at Omni Boston at the Seaport. “Everything has a local tie to it. Everything is purposeful and thoughtful. You feel connected to your destination.” The unique character sets Omni Boston at the Seaport apart, offering corporate travelers an authentic Boston experience.

From the moment you enter the lobby, you taste that essence. Known by the locals as “Boston’s only 24-hour museum,” the hotel is bubbling with artwork: brilliant paintings, progressive technology, and urban-chic mixed media Converse festoon the luxury property.

Flavor takes a more literal approach with any of the hotel’s seven restaurants. Each venue affords a unique dining experience suitable for individual meals or hospitality events. Private rooms or full buyouts are available for each venue, providing a myriad of hospitality entertainment opportunities for conventioneers.

A stand-out in their restaurant dossier is Lifted. This indoor-outdoor experience is perched on the fifth floor, overlooking the city skyline. Complete with hydraulic windows that open to the pool deck, the 200-person venue is bathed in clean geometric lines, radiant natural light, and plenty of space for a DJ or strolling entertainment.

The outdoor glow is not limited to Lifted. Because the building is almost entirely glass, the convention space and hallways feel like fresh air. High ceilings, burnished wood, and illuminating sunlight bring a natural ambiance to its polished meeting space.

More than 100,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting environments are available to the savvy meeting planner. Its event space includes the largest hotel ballroom in Boston. With ceiling height scaling from 21 feet to 26 feet, the behemoth pillarless ballrooms come generously equipped with numerous rigging points, airwalls, and a world of set-up possibilities. “The goal for the design was lots of functionality and flexibility,” says Duca.

They have indeed thought of everything. The convention crowd can be a demanding customer. Their needs can range from room blocks to buyouts in the blink of an eye. The ability to stretch beyond room keys into complete convention and exhibit requirements is a niche only some hotels can serve. The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport understood the assignment. For the discerning convention crowd, it is an opportunity to break from the bleak box of traditional convention space into a revolution of local energy and unrivaled hospitality.
