Salt Lake City — After passing the first Convention & Tourism Assessment Areas (CTAA) in Salt Lake County, Visit Salt Lake (VSL) is expanding their financial team and recently hired Brayden O’Brien as their new Senior Financial Analyst. With the budget expansion, extensive new initiatives and programs mean a more robust and complicated budget and increased need for financial analysis. He brings a strong skill set and passion for Salt Lake to the newly created position.
Brayden will analyze VSL’s internal performance and its external impact to ensure VSL is prudently administering resources to efficiently grow Salt Lake’s visitor economy. In addition to managing CTAA funds Brayden will assist with streamlining financial operations across VSL’s programs, including the Salt Lake Ski Super Pass, Connect Pass, Cottonwood Connect transit program, and newly revamped VSL membership program.
“We’re so pleased to have Brayden on board,” said Bart Blaisdell, Chief Financial Officer. “He brings a wealth of knowledge to our team and his enthusiasm for policy and community development make him make a meaningful contributor to our team as we market this amazing destination to potential visitors.”
“It’s an exciting time to join Visit Salt Lake,” said O’Brien. “With the newly created CTAA areas, it’s important we carefully monitor and analyze key components so we can present the true ROI of these programs to our member hotels, elected officials, and municipalities. I’m eager to make a join this this professional team and make a difference.”
Prior to joining Visit Salt Lake, O’Brien served as Financial Controller at Particl, a technology company recognized as a Silicon Slopes Startup of the Year in 2022. While there, he established the core financial operations, setting the foundation for scalable growth through the development of strong financial and accounting systems, processes, and reporting.
