BMA House Hosts Global Good Awards for the Seventh Year

submitted by Adam Baggs, Soaring Worldwide

Last week, the Global Good Awards (GGA) took place at BMA House. It was BMA House’s seventh year either in-person or virtually (due to COVID) hosting the major event.

The GGA honours businesses, NGOs, charities, and social enterprises across the globe for their groundbreaking work in sustainability and ethical leadership. Founded in 2015, GGA made its mark by rewarding leaders who achieve tangible, real-world impact that is both scalable and replicable. It makes sense then that BMA House, a venue renowned for its sustainable practices, would be the setting for their annual ceremony.

“We’re honoured to have been chosen to host the Global Good Awards again this year,” said Hannah Robinson, BMA House’s Venue Manager.  “We share a common vision with GGA in promoting purpose-driven sustainability across industries, and so to host their awards ceremony is to continue supporting the overall mission to democratise sustainability.”

In response, Karen Sutton from the Global Good Awards said: “We are delighted to return to BMA House for the seventh year in a row. The venue’s unwavering commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with the values of the Global Good Awards. BMA House is more than just a venue; it is an active partner in our mission to promote and celebrate purposeful, impactful change. Their eco-conscious practices, from zero-waste policies to their efforts in reducing carbon footprints, truly enhance the experience for our attendees and demonstrate the kind of leadership in sustainability that we seek to recognize and encourage.”

During the event, Hannah Robinson presented the Educational Excellence Award to the Enactus UK NextGenLeaders Programme.

BMA House’s proactive stance on sustainability and multiple eco-friendly initiatives have made it the location of choice for events like the GGA. Over the past four years, BMA House has reduced its delegate carbon footprint by an impressive 69%, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. With initiatives such as zero-waste food policies, green menus featuring locally grown produce, and carbon calculators to help clients reduce their environmental impact, BMA House is a leader in environmentally conscious event hosting.

Winning first place in the Sustainability category at the London Venue Awards and holding Gold accreditation with Green Tourism since 2017, BMA House embodies the principles of sustainability that the Global Good Awards stand for.

As well as the awards ceremony itself, last week’s event consisted of networking sessions, live music, a drinks reception and three-course, seated meal. The drinks reception comprised biodynamic/sustainable wines and canapes using surplus vegetables from food waste charity Waste Knot, and the three-course meal was entirely plant-based (courtesy of Company of Cooks, BMA House’s in-house caterer).

“For us,” adds Hannah, “the GGA is more than an awards body – it’s a movement dedicated to inspiring meaningful, actionable change – and is therefore completely aligned with BMA House’s mission. Hosting the event is a perfect reflection of our own sustainable journey.”

GGA has already booked BMA House for its 2025 awards ceremony, taking place on 24th September.

This week it was also revealed that BMA House has retained it Platinum ECOsmart status with Greengage.
