The Cairns Convention Centre in Tropical North Queensland, Australia, will welcome the prestigious AUS-oMicS Conference from May 18-21, 2025.

This international event will gather leading researchers, industry professionals, and innovators from over 30 countries to explore groundbreaking advancements in omics technologies and their transformative applications across health, agriculture, and sustainability.

The conference will provide a platform for global collaboration and knowledge sharing in fields such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and bioinformatics. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the latest innovations and forge new partnerships to address key societal challenges.

AUS-oMicS will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including renowned experts such as Coral Barbas, Daniel Raftery, and Bernd Wollscheid. These distinguished plenary speakers, along with keynote speakers Elaine Holmes and William Donald, will share their groundbreaking research and insights in fields like analytical chemistry, metabolomics, and systems biology. “We are excited to bring together such a diverse and esteemed group of professionals to inspire and promote innovation in omics technologies,” said Tara Pukala, Professor of Chemistry from the Australian and New Zealand Society for Mass Spectrometry (ANZSMS).

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest, the Cairns Convention Centre seamlessly integrates state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology with the city’s modern conference precinct. Cairns features contemporary tropical dining and a variety of accommodation options, ranging from 5-star luxury to budget-friendly—all within a 10-minute walk from the Cairns Convention Centre and numerous attractions. Plus, with over 150 operators offering diverse experiences for pre- and post-conference touring, including the Great Barrier Reef, Wet Tropics Rainforest, picturesque tablelands, and the outback, delegates will find Cairns an ideal location to immerse themselves in both professional development and natural beauty.

“The AUS-oMicS Global Conference 2025 represents a major milestone for our community,” said Morten Andersen, Associate Professor and ARC Future Fellow at The Australian Glycoscience Society (Glyco@Oz). “The conference program, speakers, and social functions have been thoughtfully designed to provide delegates with an incredible opportunity to share knowledge, forge connections, and inspire the next generation of omics researchers. The Cairns Convention Centre, with its cutting-edge technology, spectacular surroundings, and Cairns’ wide variety of pre- and post-conference touring options, is an ideal location for this international gathering.”

Cairns also boasts excellent global connectivity, making travel seamless for delegates from key international destinations. Cairns Airport provides direct flights to major hubs such as Tokyo and Singapore, ensuring easy access from Europe through these connections. Starting in April, delegates from North America can also benefit from new direct flights to Cairns via Fiji/Nadi with Fiji Airways.
