Lisbon, Portugal – Europalco, the largest provider of solutions for events and shows in Southern Europe, achieved one of its most ambitious feats to date by projection mapping 192 round tables during Generali Tranquilidade’s (one of the largest non-life insurers in the Portuguese market) annual gathering, transforming the dining setup into a synchronized visual display that set the tone for a fully immersive experience.

Held at Lisbon’s MEO Arena, the largest indoor multi-purpose stadium in Portugal, and produced by the agency 2 Inspire, this year’s edition brought together nearly 2,000 attendees for a technically ambitious event built around a central football theme.

Over 55 Europalco specialists were involved in the project, which required more than 1,700 cubic meters of equipment transported in 20 trucks, along with a month of planning and system preparation. The company’s scope of work included audio, lighting, video, rigging, staging, motor control, custom scenic, projection mapping, streaming, camera systems, and furniture.

One of the highlights of the event was the synchronized video projection mapped across 192 round tables, each 1.8 meters in diameter. To ensure projection uniformity and clarity, the surfaces were vinyl-wrapped in-house. The complex visual was achieved using 14 Christie 20K and 16 16K projectors, coordinated to create a cohesive effect throughout the dining area.

Audience entry was staged through the MEO Arena’s tunnels, culminating in a reveal moment where motorized screens lifted via movecats, opening access to the main event space. The transition was designed to mark a clear shift from arrival to experience.

Scenic execution aligned closely with the event’s football concept. The Portuguese company designed and built a custom stage featuring carpentry elements and textile prints, supported by branded visuals and lighting accents to maintain thematic consistency.

The main visual display included two 37m x 10m projection surfaces and two additional 30m x 10m screens. Video content was powered by eight Christie 30K projectors, ensuring high-resolution playback and uniform brightness across all surfaces.

The event featured the largest indoor drone light show ever performed, produced by external partner Ignition Concept. The show included 100 drones and was seamlessly integrated into a broader visual narrative that connected technology, emotion, and the brand’s identity.

The audio system utilized L-Acoustics’ L2 line array, owned and operated exclusively by Europalco, the only company in Portugal with this system, to deliver consistent, high-quality sound coverage throughout the venue. Lighting, featured Zonda 9 FX, BMFL Blade, Wildsun 500, and Ayrton Diablo fixtures, selected for their flexibility in shaping both ambient and dynamic looks throughout the show. In addition, the company delivered the entire rigging system, variable-speed motors, streaming setup, and camera configuration for both live and remote viewing.

While the scale of the event presented logistical challenges, particularly around setup, calibration, and rehearsal time, Europalco’s integrated teams ensured precise execution through pre-event testing, tight coordination, and on-site system verification.

Feedback from 2 Inspire and Generali Tranquilidade confirmed the success of the approach, highlighting the overall coherence of the event and the quality of execution across technical areas.

Pedro Magalhães, Founder and CEO of Europalco, commented, “Our focus is always on designing environments that align with the client’s message and objectives. This event combined visual storytelling with technical integration at scale, and that’s where our team excels. We’re pleased to have delivered another solid edition of this long-standing collaboration.”
