MANITOWOC, WI — Graphic Image Flooring announced the launch of a new recycling initiative designed to reduce landfill waste associated with trade show and event flooring. The program allows select carpet, vinyl flooring, and floor mats used in exhibits and events to be returned and fully reprocessed through established manufacturing recycling systems.
Sustainability continues to be an important priority across the exhibit and events industry. Through this initiative, Graphic Image Flooring is advancing responsible end-of-life solutions by working with manufacturing partners to ensure flooring materials are recycled rather than sent to landfills.
There is a critical distinction between reclamation and recycling. Reclamation focuses on collecting and diverting materials away from landfills, while recycling breaks carpet fibers and vinyl components down into raw materials that can be used to manufacture new products.
Through true recycling, trade show carpet and vinyl flooring can be transformed into materials used in automotive components, insulation, new carpet backing, and other industrial applications. This process supports measurable waste reduction while extending the lifecycle of flooring materials used in exhibit environments.
Graphic Image Flooring has chosen to prioritize full recycling over simple reclamation. While this approach requires additional coordination and operational investment, it ensures recyclable materials are fully reprocessed whenever possible.
The recycling program is currently available for select products including:
Carpet
Infinity Carpet
Vinyl Flooring
DuraLite Vinyl
Prestige Vinyl Flooring
Endurance Vinyl Flooring
Expressions XD Flooring
Floor Mats
Select Graphic Image Mats products
To make participation simple for exhibitors and partners, materials can be returned to designated recycling facilities following events. Carpet can be returned to Dalton, Georgia or Las Vegas, Nevada, while vinyl flooring can be returned to Emporia, Kansas or Randolph, New Jersey.
“At Graphic Image Flooring, we believe sustainability should be practical and actionable,” said Tim Wirtz, Founder and CEO of Graphic Image Flooring.. “This initiative reflects our commitment to helping our partners reduce waste while continuing to deliver flooring solutions designed to perform in real world environments.”
The new recycling program will be introduced at Exhibitor Live 2026 in Tampa, where attendees can learn more about the initiative and how it supports more sustainable exhibit and event environments.
