Date Opened: June 12, 1937. Named Berry Field in 1939. It was named the Nashville International Airport in 1988.
Size: It is 4,555 acres. There are four runways, the longest of which is 11,000 feet. One terminal with five concourses housing 53 gates.
Transportation: Nashville’s WeGo Route 18 bus connects the airport to the city’s downtown. Highway I-40 provides access by car, with taxi and rideshare services at the terminal.
On-site facilities: Hilton BNA is at the airport. There’s free WiFi, plenty of shopping and dining, and, in true Nashville tradition, live music pre-security and at a number of dining venues within. There are children’s play areas, and five minute suites, with work desk, TV, and daybed.
Fun Fact 1: BNA is Tennessee’s largest airport by far, with annual passenger numbers (nearly 26 million in 2025) greater than all other Tennessee airports combined.
Fun Fact 2: BNA accommodates several international nonstop flights, including London, Dublin, Vancouver, and Reykjavik.
