Expo Centric Launches Western Australia Joint Venture

Expo Centric and Event Mill have launched Expo Centric WA (Western Australia), a joint venture based at a new 2,200-square-meter manufacturing and production facility in Jandakot.

The operation gives the companies local capacity to design, manufacture, pre-build, store, and deliver exhibits and event projects. It combines Expo Centric’s national exhibit experience with Event Mill’s existing Western Australia operations.

New facility adds local production capacity

Expo Centric says many large custom exhibits for Western Australian events are now manufactured on Australia’s east coast. Teams then transport them thousands of kilometers to Perth.

According to the company, that model can add about $50,000 to the cost of a large custom exhibit in Perth compared with a similar project in Sydney. Expo Centric attributes much of the difference to interstate freight, travel, labor, and other logistics.

The company says Expo Centric WA aims to shift more design, manufacturing, storage, and pre-build work to Western Australia.

“I have personally been travelling to Perth to deliver exhibition stands since 2008, and the cost of transporting major builds from the east coast has continued to climb,” said Stan Kruss, chief executive officer of Expo Centric. “In many cases, a client can spend around $50,000 more simply because their event is in Perth rather than Sydney.”

The Jandakot facility includes custom joinery and fabrication, wide-format printing, graphic production, audiovisual capabilities, project storage, and logistics.

It also holds more than 2,000 Aluvision frames for modular and custom exhibit construction. In addition, teams can complete full pre-builds, quality-control checks, and client inspections before installation.

Joint venture targets Western Australia market

Expo Centric WA plans to work with exhibitors, brands, retailers, event agencies, and exhibition organizers.

Its services include individual stands, complete show builds, brand activations, event environments, retail displays, and permanent installations.

The companies also say the operation will create local jobs. Those positions will span design, project management, manufacturing, printing, audiovisual production, logistics, and installation.

Event Mill directors Jesse Wilson and Nick Spencer said the partnership combines Event Mill’s local operations with Expo Centric’s exhibition design and production experience.

“The important part for us is that this is not simply an east coast business opening a sales office in Perth,” Wilson said. “We are investing in the people, equipment, manufacturing capability and infrastructure required to deliver these projects properly here in Western Australia.”

Expo Centric WA will support existing Expo Centric clients exhibiting in the state. It will also pursue work with Western Australian brands, agencies, retailers, venues, and exhibition organizers.
