A new employee has joined the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) as a tradeshow sales manager, national accounts.
Charlene Lopez’s role at the ACVB includes the selling and marketing of Atlanta to large associations, trade meetings and events requiring more than 1,200 rooms on peak night.
With nine years of experience in hospitality industry sales, Lopez comes to the ACVB well-equipped to enhance Atlanta’s positioning in the tradeshow market. Most recently, Lopez represented the Omni Hotel at CNN Center as the director of sales where she was responsible for booking business from the mid-Atlantic market and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the sales department.
Prior to the Omni, Lopez spent eight plus years with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, serving as business travel manager, sales manager and associate director of sales at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio, Texas. She spent two years of her tenure at Hyatt Regency Atlanta, serving as associate director of sales, where she developed sales efforts and managed a team of 20.
