Officials for AGILE Tradeshow & Event Furnishings and American Furniture Rentals (AFR) have announced an agreement has been reached for AFR to acquire AGILE. AFR is the parent company of AFR Event Furnishings.
“If you are not familiar with AFR, they are one of the industry’s leading providers of event and tradeshow furniture as well as one of the largest furniture rental providers of residential, home staging and commercial rental furniture in the United States,” said Jose Lopez, owner, AGILE Tradeshow & Event Furnishings.
Although a deal is in place to transfer ownership, the firm will continue operating as an independent entity so customers can count on a seamless transition while receiving quality service.
“AGILE will remain a separate entity doing business as it always has, just under the AFR company umbrella,” said Lopez. “AGILE will continue to provide the same level of service customers have grown accustomed to with the added muscle of a great organization like AFR. AGILE’s business philosophy and strategies will remain consistent in both our sales approach and logistical execution for installations and dismantling.”
The new strategic alignment with AFR will bolster AGILE’s national footprint and
expand its presence with facilities in Miami, Orlando, Dallas, San Diego, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia and Los Angeles along with combined forces in Las Vegas, Chicago, New York and New Jersey.
The acquisition means AFR Event Furnishings and AGILE each can complement the ability of the other to service all industry market segments.
“This strategic move is a big game changer for both companies and the event and tradeshow industry,” said Tricia Schmitt, vice president of brand management, AFR.
Lopez, who founded AGILE in 2002 and will continue to run it after the acquisition is completed, also is a part-owner of AFR. Details are yet to be announced, but Schmitt says customers will be kept fully apprised of the situation while continuing to receive a high level of service for their event needs.
AGILE Tradeshow & Event Furnishings is headquartered in New York City and has a national sales office in Richmond, Va., and distribution centers in Chicago, Las Vegas and New York City. Privately owned AFR was founded in 1975 and is headquartered in Pennsauken, N.J., with offices located across the U.S.
