ALHI presents “Chairman’s Award” to Peabody Orlando

Peabody OrlandoAssociated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), which serves the meetings and incentive marketplace with quality hotels and resorts, named The Peabody Orlando as the recipient of its “Chairman’s Award” as the “ALHI Hotel of the Year” for 2011. The award is given annually to the ALHI member hotel or resort that best displays extraordinary leadership with their property, exemplifies “Commitment to Performance” in the marketplace, and epitomizes the “partner relationship” with ALHI. The award was presented at ALHI’s annual Industry Advisory Council conference, which was conducted at the Atlantis on Paradise Island in The Bahamas. 

David Gabri, president and CEO of ALHI, and Taylor Fernley, president and CEO of Fernley & Fernley Inc. and 2011 ALHI Industry Advisory Council Chairman, presented the award to Sheri Wallen, director of sales for The Peabody Orlando, and Barbara Bowden, general manager of The Peabody Orlando.

“The Peabody Orlando is truly deserving of this award,” said Gabri. “It is an exceptional hotel with a truly outstanding executive team and staff. Meeting professionals and our National Sales team just love this hotel, and really enjoy working with this team.”

As the largest Forbes Four-Star, AAA Four-Diamond hotel in the eastern half of the United States, The Peabody Orlando is known for its blend of service, facilities and location. Following a $450 million expansion, the hotel features a total of 1,641 ultra-luxurious guest rooms, 300,000 square feet of flexible function space, The Spa at The Peabody, new restaurants and eateries, pools and a parking garage.
