ASAE Welcomes Visit Reno Tahoe & MMCC 2021 Recap

ASAE has announced that Visit Reno Tahoe has signed on as a new event partner in ASAE’s Alliance Partnership Program, as of July 1.

The Alliance Partnership Program was developed to provide the industry partner community with opportunities to align itself with ASAE and the association sector through customized marketing platforms. It also offers partners the chance to help build and maintain year-round relationships with ASAE members and nonprofit communities worldwide.

Visit Reno Tahoe is the official destination marketing organization responsible for promoting year-round leisure, business, meetings and conventions and international travel to Reno, aka “The Biggest Little City,” and the nearby, breathtaking Lake Tahoe area. Reno Tahoe and the Northern Nevada region is home to more than 1 million square feet of flexible meeting space, more than 15,000 hotel rooms and a wide range of activities and gorgeous scenery tailormade for memorable experiences.

Susan-Robertson-ASAE“ASAE is so excited to officially welcome Visit Reno Tahoe into the ASAE Alliance Partnership family,” says ASAE President and CEO Susan Robertson (pictured left), CAE. “The Visit Reno Tahoe team understands the association community so well and is committed to helping association meeting planners create unique, unforgettable events for their attendees. We’re thrilled that Reno Tahoe will be an Official Community Pop-UP Host during the 2021 ASAE Annual Meeting in August and look forward to a long, mutually beneficial partnership.”

Charles-Harris-Reno CVA“Our partnership with ASAE is important to the growth of Reno Tahoe, as we continue to push forward and work to rebound from the Covid-19 impact on the meeting and convention industry,” says Charles Harris (pictured right), president and CEO of the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority. “The research and networking opportunities provided by this collaboration will open the door to new customers, but more importantly, it enhances our ability to learn and share experiences as we all work to navigate a return to business as usual.”

The mission of the RSCVA is to attract overnight visitors to Reno Tahoe lodging properties through tourism marketing, convention sales and facility operations, featuring local amenities, attractions and events; thereby enhancing the economic benefit and quality of life for Northern Nevada. MMCC 2021 Recap

ASAE’s virtual Marketing, Membership, & Communications Conference (MMCC) June 2-4, was attended by a strong mix of association professionals, industry partners, speakers, press and vendors. More than 46 percent of registrants for this year’s MMCC were first-time attendees. The final attendance breakdown of 761 overall registrants included 475 association professionals (includes 69 small-staff org members), 127 industry partners, 72 speakers of various designations and 87 others, including press, vendors and staff. Additionally, there were 30 industry partner companies that participated in various registration and conversation packages, Insider Day demos and Solution Chats, along with engagement through thought leadership supporter packages, such as the session tracks and keynotes. The ratio of buyers to sellers was 81 percent buyers to 19 percent sellers.

MMCC presentations and events fell under the headlines “Do Big Things,” “Lead Big Tasks,” “Take Big Steps” and “Have Big Ideas,” in response to the rapid changes over the past year and the possibilities for great campaigns being bigger than ever. The virtual event kicked off with a keynote from Erica Dhawan, best-selling author and leading authority on collaboration and innovation. She brought to life how Connectional Intelligence is turning people into “superconnectors” who accelerate innovation, break down silos and foster breakthrough bottom-line impact by harnessing the power of networks. She also shared tactics to address communication overload and foster authentic, innovation-driving relationships.

The keynote presentation was followed by a series of MMCC Solutions Chats featuring conversations from expert industry partners and four PivotFest conversations with industry partners who discussed success stories of helping clients pivot their business offerings in the midst of uncertainty. The new MMCC Solution Center featured five business-focused hubs for attendees to collect resources, share ideas and chat based on job function or interest. Allen Gannett, best-selling author and founder and CEO of TrackMaven, closed the event with a keynote on how flashes of genius happen and how to increase your odds of having one. MMCC Insider Day, held June 2, was an opportunity for 13 companies to showcase demos of their solutions and the latest technologies to increase productivity.

Robb Lee“MMCC was filled with the sharing of inspiring ideas, case studies and new solutions and tools to help organizations and professionals take big leaps forward. We are thankful to our speakers, attendees and partners who provided information, value and depth to the conversations and services experienced by everyone throughout the conference,” says Robb Lee (pictured left), chief strategy officer, ASAE.

All registrants for MMCC will have access to the eShow virtual platform and sessions on-demand through June 30. For details, visit mmcc.asaecenter.org.
