The American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry were recently recognized with the 2010 Associations Make a Better World Award, sponsored by ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership.
Introduced in 2002, the awards recognize association programs, projects and activities that make a significant contribution to society and economies around the world, in two categories: U.S./Developed Nations and Developing Nations. Representatives from each of the overall award-winning associations will receive the Award at ASAE & The Center’s 2010 Annual Meeting & Exposition, Aug. 21-24 in Los Angeles.
“The reach of the association community goes far beyond the U.S. borders, with many internationally-based associations making significant contributions to local communities around the world,” said John H. Graham IV, CAE, president and CEO of ASAE & The Center. “ASAE & The Center is proud to recognize the social, economic and advocacy contributions of associations working internationally.
