TOURtech, provider of managed IT services for corporate events, concert tours and music festivals, expands capacity with two new hires.
Increased demand for advanced networking at event venues is fueling a 70 percent growth rate for the company. This includes cashless applications being used more frequently at festivals and large events.
“As little as two years ago, Wi-Fi was a nicety for event production,” said Allen Cook, founder and CEO, TOURtech. “Today, private networks are a must have with user counts on large events reaching into the thousands and data transfer measured in terabytes.”
TOURtech has brought on two new members of the leadership team to manage the increase in workload. Shaw Garrison will serve as the vice president of operations and Sid Gonzalez as a senior network engineer.
Shaw Garrison is responsible for oversight of resource management and logistics. He has nearly two decades of experience in tours and events, most recently with Live Nation producing events throughout North and South Carolina. Garrison also spent four years as the road manager for Widespread Panic and four years serving as tour manager for Everything, a band famed for the ’98 hit song ‘Hooch.’
Sid Gonzalez will work developing, deploying and managing networks onsite. He is A+ and Network + certified, a Microsoft Enterprise Administrator and a Cisco Certified Network Administrator. Gonzalez has previously worked at Unisys, Johnson & Johnson, Motorola, ADP, AT&T, Ford Motor Company and mindSHIFT.
