Battle lines will be drawn for SISO’s 2013 exhibition showdown

“The competing companies all present viable, actionable solutions to improve event strategies,” said Lew Shomer, executive director, SISO. “We are very excited to see how each will fare on the Battlefield.”

To be held from Aug. 6-8 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., the conference focuses on tactical implementation. The company that dominates the Battlefield will be mentored by SISO leaders and gain access to companies in the event industry. Champions will enjoy a complete program of recognition through the SISO website and the event industry press.

Four companies, each representing breakthrough event tech or thought-leading concepts, will advance their ideas before executive-level professionals. Following a critique and vote, only one will emerge victorious.

The businesses vying for exhibition supremacy are 1Track, Eventley, Picatic and RevenuePath.

1Track is a new technology solution that drives engagement at tradeshows. Attendees use the 1Track mobile app to capture products and items of interest at different vendors. This user-generated content stream drives an intelligent real-time “social network” across the entire community of attendees and exhibitors. Attendees see customized streams of trending products on their mobile devices and benefit from the activity of other show attendees. At a broader scale, monitors in hallways or in individual vendor booths display appropriate streams of trending content.1Track provides exhibitors and organizers a new avenue to capture attendee interests and behaviors and to utilize this to direct information and advertising to specific attendee audiences.

Eventley is an engagement platform for business events. Every company organizes events to sell, to satisfy and engage audiences. The company helps its marketing and sales teams get closer to their prospects and customers and drive “Return on Event.” Eventley takes the headache out of managing events, so marketers can focus on engaging attendees with matching logic, social and mobile tools. Passive attendees become active fans, marketers become heroes, sales can sell more and executives gain visibility into their customers across one or multiple events.

Picatic is a crowdfunding and traditional ticketing and registration platform. Its crowdfunding platform affords event organizers the ability to test new tracks of events or the ability to create events within an event without risk. Ticket buyers are given an opportunity to make their favorite events happen by pledging funding toward an event. A pledge entitles the buyer to a discounted ticket and/or perk. If the event meets its funding target before the posted deadline, tickets move to full price and continue to sell. For events that don’t reach the critical mass within the time allotted, ticket buyers are 100 percent refunded. The company’s FairPay is a solution for event planners to create, promote, sell and manage events at a cost determined by the event planner. Picatic’s mission is to help host successful events. The service price is up to customers.

Once RevenuePath realized the digital audience is larger than the in-show audience, it allowed for sponsors, exhibitors or anyone interested to advertise to this event audience as they surf the Web, due to the custom audience created by retargeting.
