Blue Telescope project earns award from SEGD

Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) honored Blue Telescope, an interactive exhibit agency, with an Award of Merit for its work with design firm Poulin + Morris on National Public Radio’s (NPR) lobby exhibition, This is NPR.

Located at NPR’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., the permanent exhibit features a graphic timeline of the organization’s history, with highlighted cue icons embedded in its text. Visitors can enter these cues on a mobile site developed by Blue Telescope to hear accompanying audio clips, including oral histories and excerpts from significant broadcasts.

“We were thrilled to participate in this project and help make NPR’s most significant recordings accessible to visitors using mobile technology,” said Patrick Snee, creative director, Blue Telescope.

SEGD’s Global Design Awards were created in 1987 to recognize excellence in environmental graphic design. They are the only international design awards focused on communication in the built environment.
