Blue Telescope, the interactive exhibit agency, has been awarded with 4 Communicator Awards by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. The Blue Telescope projects were recognized from over 6,000 entries in this year’s competition which celebrates the creative excellence of communications professionals.
Recognized with Awards of Distinction were Cells of Your Body and Immune Cell Army, a pair of interactive multi-touch tabletop activities developed for the Konya Science Center in Konya, Turkey. Cells of Your Body teaches visitors about the building blocks of the human body by challenging them to match microscopic images of human cells with a representation of the corresponding matching body system. Immune Cell Army is an action game which requires players to block incoming pathogen avatars with the correct immune cell before it can cross the table to the user’s station, educating visitors about vaccines and antibiotics.
The Innovation Stations, created in conjunction with Kubik for HP, presents customized content to visitors at the company’s new customer welcome center. Guests can explore products, initiatives, and case studies using gestures on a multi-touch interactive table. The Innovation Station, which received an Award of Distinction, allows independent as well as small group, staff led exploration.
Also honored with an Award of Distinction was the Spark For the Machine Data Visualization developed for Hewlett Packard Enterprises to demonstrate The Machine, their research project which takes a major leap forward in computer performance and security. The touch screen demo utilized a 3D globe to visualize how The Machine can utilize a complex algorithm for identifying malicious websites and pinpoint them on the map.
