Blue Telescope wins multiple 2015 Communicator Awards

Blue Telescope, an interactive exhibit agency, has been awarded with 4 Communicator Awards by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. Founded by communication professionals over a decade ago, the Communicator Awards is an annual competition honoring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio.

The Blue Telescope projects were recognized from over 6,000 entries in this year’s competition that celebrates the creative excellence of communications professionals.

Honored with an Award of Excellence was Redefine Your Space, Blue Telescope’s own multimedia installation designed to demonstrate the company’s interactive design capabilities and showcase three emerging technologies at EXHIBITOR2014, , held Mar. 16-20 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. A stereoscopic 3D adventure using Oculus Rift virtual headsets, projection mapping onto an abstract geometric structure and tablets utilizing augmented reality resulted in immersive, transformative experiences for small spaces.

Other exhibits Recognized with Awards of Distinction were Tessellation Maker and Twisty Puzzle Design, a pair of interactive multi-touch tabletop activities developed with Liberty Science Center for the travelling exhibit Beyond Rubik’s Cube. Tessellation Maker let visitors explore the geometry of patterns and tessellations by snapping shapes together to create more complex objects, launching colorful animations, and drawing parallels to tessellations found in everyday life. Twisty Puzzle Design allowed guests to create, scramble, and solve their own virtual customizable 3-D puzzles. The experience helps visitors understand the geometry of the puzzles and the relationship between the core mechanics and their outer appearance.

Also receiving an Award of Distinction, The Injection Simulator, created for French pharmaceutical company Ipsen, educates doctors in treatment techniques for cervical dystopia. The simulator utilizes a life-size mannequin with a soft surface in the neck to allow users the opportunity to practice precision injections. An adjacent display shows the syringe’s position in the musculature and provides information about the amount of medication virtually injected into each muscle.

Blue Telescope uses technology, storytelling and design to create engaging interactive exhibits and live events. From multi-touch and mobile apps to games, quizzes and social interactives, the agency develops innovative solutions using the latest technology to build traffic and deliver brand messages.
