BMA House Applauds Decision on Green Events

BMA House is supporting an initiative from the Global Good Awards to offer advice, best practice and consultancy to event organizers looking to improve their sustainability.

The Global Good Awards, led by environmental campaigner, consultant and event expert Karen Sutton, has recently set up a consultancy division to advise companies on a range of issues, including ways to make their events more sustainable.

As a client of BMA House, Sutton has frequently chosen the venue for her own events due to its strong environmental credentials. BMA in return is a strong advocate of the Global Good Awards work and welcomes the addition of this new offering.

Event consultancy services from the Global Good Awards range from free advice and sustainability “hacks” to learning resources and full consultancy services.

“Here at BMA House, we believe that all events should be organized with CSR, sustainability and the environment at the heart of the planning process,” says Kat Winfield, venue manager at BMA House.  “This is not about commercializing a current trend, but genuinely delivering conscientious events for the sake of the planet and future. The Global Good Awards and Karen’s own attitude match our beliefs and ethos. In the past her events and input have helped us improve BMA House’s environmental credentials and we are delighted to see that expertise will now support a much wider range of organizations and events.”

Sutton responds: “It’s fantastic to receive the backing of BMA House. Thanks to its event team being so receptive to my ideas, particularly for an all vegan reception—the first for a mainstream event—the Global Good Awards has been able to not only walk the talk when it comes to sustainability, but eat it too. The Awards, now in their sixth year, are going from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to sharing sustainable best practice with event organizers across industries.”

The 2020 Global Good Awards will take place June 16 at BMA House.
