The Kentucky International Convention Center

Location: 221 S 4th St, Louisville, KY 40202

Year built: Opened in 1977

Square Footage: The KICC is nearly 300,000 sq.ft. and contains 234,306 sq.ft. of exhibit space in five exhibit halls and five ballrooms and includes a 40,000- sq.ft., column-free ballroom, 52 meeting rooms, and a 175-seat tiered conference theater

Parking: the KICC has access to two nearby parking garages, Commonwealth PG and Cowger PG with a combined 329 spaces. There are several nearby parking garages and lots within reasonable walking distance that are not associated directly with the CC

Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility for a fee which varies depending on the event

Hotels: There are more than 100 hotels in the city and nearly 20,000 hotel rooms are in the Louisville Metro area

Airport Info: The KICC is 7.6 miles from the Louisville International Airport

Fun Fact #1: When the CC was reopened in 2018 following a two year major renovation, it included color-changing LED light walls. As part of the celebration there was a bourbon tasting, keeping in line with Kentucky’s rich tradition as the maker of spirits

Fun Fact #2: The CC was originally called the Commonwealth Convention Center, Kentucky is one of four U.S. states which are technically commonwealths, a distinction in name only

Fun Fact #3: in order to keep the budget down for the renovation, instead of building up, parts of the CC were built out, cantilevering over a nearby street
